Scuba Diver Girls Boat Diving Adventure!

We chartered the Lois Ann in San Diego on May 1, 2009 and booked it with Scuba Diver Girls and their dive buddies…it was a full house…I mean boat! Everyone arrived at 12 noon and started putting together their gear. Captain JR signed us in and made sure all the paperwork was in order. The great thing about the Lois Ann is that Scuba Diver Girls Karma and Anna are the Dive Masters!!! The whole crew helped us get ready to go and gave us the low down on the boat, safety issues, and our dive sites.

Our first dive was a wreck dive to the Ruby E.

The Ruby E sits upright and intact on the bottom with only the slightest list to the port side. All areas of the wreck except the bilge are easily accessible and the wreck is a pleasure to dive. The bow of the Ruby E points in a northerly direction and lies in about 90 feet of water.

Karma gave the dive site briefing as we all excitedly got ready to go see the wreck! One by one we stepped off the Lois Ann and into the Pacific. Then divers grouped up and descended the line…

The dive was amazing! The viz was great and the Ruby was beautiful! There is so much life on and around her that it is a divers paradise! After about 40 minutes of exploring and having fun, we all ascended back to the Lois Ann…after our 3 minute safety stop of course!

The crew served us an excellent lunch. We had fresh fruit, a veggie tray, and wraps! Karma said that they planned especially for the Scuba Diver Girls thinking that we would enjoy wraps! She was RIGHT! We were all famished by the time we took off all our gear and rinsed off! We gobbled everything down and kicked back waiting for JR to drive us to our next dive site! 7-Fathoms here we come!!!

This was an amazing dive site! Depths range from 45-85 feet and due to the deep surrounding area, the swells effect this site less than others. The viz is typically 25 feet but I think we had closer to 30! The water was pretty cold so our dive was short…came back with 1000 psi…just got too cold to stay down!

After this dive, I was getting out of my gear and Stephanie was standing there with a silly grin on her face…I poked her in the arm and said “what’s up with you?” Her skin was super warm and she said with a huge grin, “HOT SHOWER!” Well…you don’t have to tell me twice…I jumped down the stairs and took advantage of the private hot shower the Lois Ann has on the boat! Very Nice!

Once we were all settled and on our way back, Anna and Karma broke out the BROWNIES! Now what could be better than that after a dive!!! I was so happy, I made a 12 second video about it
