Scuba Diver Girls Classes

  • Estela Bertola Miranda
    Hi, girls.
My name is Estela and I am about to become a PADI Dive Master in the following days and I am planning to become an instructor sometime during this year. As a added value I speak English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, quite good at Italian and some German. I am currently living in Grand Turk, BWI . I would like to work in ANYTHING related with diving. Suggestions about where to apply?
Thanks a lot and looking forward to going to a meeting soon!
  • I suggest you post on our Scuba Diver Girls facebook page...our fans will give you tons of ideas for your area.

  • Berny Sweeney
Do you have any advice or tips for novices getting started in their home swimming pool? Perhaps snorkeling tips or ideas for beginners interested in scuba?
  • Yes, you should go to your local dive shop and discuss a plan! Good luck and be safe!
  • Rebecca Vang
    Hi there,
My name is Rebecca Vang, located in San Diego. I'm not sure if you have heard of the news of Troy Le. He was lost by saving a girl name Jessica Eung. Right at the moment the rescuer life guards has quit on us. What we really want is to just have our friend to come back on earth even if he is dead so that we can give a funeral. So if you would like to voluenteer in scuba diving at Torrey Pines State Beach, please help us. It would mean alot, or if you know anyone.
  • Hey thanks for shining a light on the plight of whales. Your readers can take action at our website...cheers!

I have been trying to get a trip to SD planned for some time now. Now my best friends daughter who lives in SD is expecting twins in March so was planning on bringing my friend out to see her new grandbabies and get some scuba in. I just learned that March may not be a great diving month in SD, is this true? It will be the week of 13-19. I was interested in taking the digital photography course as well. Please tell me I can scuba with you when I get there! :-)

    Hi dear Scuba Diver Girls,

I miss the Galapagos Islands in your destinations...

Are you interested? We are a Dive Base in Puerto Ayora/Santa Cruz. I already published a video on your facebook account.

I would be very pleased to welcome you at our Hotel Silberstein and the adjoint DiveBase. Our instructors and Dive Masters are both male and female... you can choose...

Looking forward to receive a positive answer to include the unique Spot Galapagos in your 2010 plans =)
  • NCdiver
You guys need to come dive in NC. Some of the world's best diving, but it is all boys! We need a female presence. Instructors/DM's, bring a resume.
  • kbernot
I'm a Divemaster and shop owner in NC, and female. Working on becoming an instructor here in the next year. I do agree, NC diving is pretty awesome, but it isn't as accessible as some would like and the conditions are generally not for the faint of stomach. Phenomenal wreck diving though!

Several years ago, I was shocked to be told by a male diver that he was submitting a university thesis for a degree, to state that Women should not dive... he sited all the physiological differences between men and women when they dive.. so I went out on a limb to educate myself, and sure enough there were some issues that needed to be noted... as an instructor I put a diver Specialty together for women divers in case they met up with similar resistance.. I wondered whether Dive Girls covers this topic in training, or whether you encounter similar opinions?
  • petrtoychi
Helo, my name is Petr, I am commercial diver at present time, so, I would realy like to use my diving skills (and photography) for better purposes. Instead of demaging marine life rather to preserve it. Who or which organisation to contact? What possible study (courses) or pactice would any recommend to go for? Thank you for helping me to go "finaly right" way, I hope..

  • Paul Q
    Hey,

I have marine conservation experience (only three months) and rescue diver certification. I have also gained a degree in marketing communications. I'd love to combine these two interests through a relevant internship and (hopefully) long-term career.

Any suggestions of voluntary work I could become involved in?

    Cheers,

    Paul

Can you e-mail me a tentative schedule of your weekend dives. I would like to drive out (from PHoenix, az) and join you. Also let me know whether I can get by with a 3/4 and a hood at your dives or do I need a 7 mm.

Why not have a Tobago listing? There are 4 "Girls" running/owning Dive Centres on this tiny Island!!!!!
  • Michelle
Who is the best breathholder underwater among your team and wthat is the best stay under time without breathing apparatus?
  • barrymoore
In the 1970s our team started from a skin diving class at College of Marin just north of San Francisco . We were trained for free diving along the Sonoma coast for Abalone. I was good. Joan Bagnaski was the best. The purpose of the course was to be on a prioity list for SCUBA classes taught by Bob Justice at C.O.M. It is death defying now with too many Great White sharks there.
  • john fraser
i wouldn't encourage breathholding for scuba divers. a potentially fatal habit.
  • Hi all,
There is never breath holding during SCUBA. Freediving is different, those people do hold there breath. But, SCUBA divers never do :) Thanks John for your concern for all the future divers.
